Personal finance tips

Financial literacy is becoming more and more important for students as it becomes a statutory part of the curriculum. You are in a perfect position to use your first hand knowledge and experience of dealing with money to help students come to grips with the concepts. Even if you are not playing games with specific financial themes - using money as a context may help you to explain trickier ideas. More information on financial literacy in the curriculum can be found in 'About education'.

  • Use anecdotes
  • Share news stories to give a real context to problems
  • Play some of the more complex games over the course of more than one session
